How it works
Every board is a private room with its own link. When you open the page you are dropped into a fresh room, and the room code rides in the URL. Send that link to anyone and the moment they open it they are on the same canvas as you, with a live cursor that you can see moving as they draw. Pen strokes, highlighter, the eraser, and sticky notes all stream to everyone in the room as they happen.
How is it live without a server I have to run?
The drawing data is relayed through a realtime message channel, not saved into a database. Each stroke is broadcast as a small batch of points while you draw, and the other browsers in the room replay it onto their own canvas. Presence (who is in the room and where their cursor is) rides on the same channel. When a new person joins, one of the people already in the room hands them the current board in a single message, so a late arrival sees everything that is already drawn. Because nothing is written to disk, the board exists only for as long as people are in the room, which is exactly what you want for a quick brainstorm or a sketch with a friend.
Good things to try
Run a quick standup sketch with a teammate, explain a bug with a diagram while you talk, play a round of pictionary, plan a trip on a shared map sketch, or teach someone a concept by drawing it as they watch. Open the link on your phone and your laptop at the same time and use the phone as a second drawing surface. When you want to keep the result, hit Save PNG.
Do I need to sign up?
No. There is no account and no install. Open the page, copy the link, and share it. Anyone who opens the link joins your board instantly.
Is anything saved or uploaded?
No. The board is relayed live between the browsers in the room and is never written to a database. When everyone closes the tab, the board is gone. If you want to keep it, use Save PNG.
How many people can it handle?
It is built for small groups, a handful of people drawing together comfortably in real time, like a team, a class, or friends. It is not meant for hundreds of simultaneous editors.
Can I undo someone else's drawing?
Undo removes your own most recent stroke. Anyone can use Clear to wipe the whole board for everyone, so use it with care.
Does it work on mobile?
Yes, you can draw with your finger. It works best with a stylus or a mouse, but touch is fully supported.
